Personal Finance Presentations

Young Americans provides age-appropriate presentations focused on meeting Colorado personal financial literacy standards. This outreach is available at our facility in Denver at 3550 E. 1st Ave, Denver CO 80206. We offer a wide range of financial topics, including:

  • Banking
  • Money Recognition
  • Savings Goals
  • Budgeting
  • Checking Accounts
  • Credit Cards

23Presentations last between 45-60 minutes each. There must be a minimum of 10 youth for a presentation and they must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance. Presentations are available Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Young Americans also offers financial literacy classes to school and community groups. To schedule your workshop at our branch or your location call 303-321-2265.

For the month of March, Lila our Operations Officer has done many financial literacy classes in schools and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver located in Montbello.

April is Financial Literacy Month

April is around the corner and Young Americans has been busy preparing for the official National Financial Literacy Month! Young Americans will be offering a variety of activities including a daily savings goal activity at both bank branch locations. Each drawing will be displayed for the month of April. Come share your savings goals with us!

During the month of April Young Americans will offer two FREE Money Matters courses. These are opportunities for students to engage in hands-on learning experiences, centered on financial literacy. Money Matters classes are a great way for families to learn together about money.

Ways we get money (ages 6-8)

Students explore different methods for earning money and ways to describe different jobs.  They also discuss sources of income needed to meet short-term and long term goals.

Story of Money/Design Your Own Money (ages 7-9)

Students learn about the history of money, what was used before money was invented, why paper money was used, how money is designed and the use of the Mint. They will then have the opportunity to create their own money.

Pigs Around Town

Be on the lookout! The Pigs Scavenger Hunt will return in June! This time youth can win up to $50! To participate, snap a photo with one of our 7 pig cutouts at participating locations throughout Green Valley Ranch and Montbello. This year the pigs are a little harder to find, try to solve the riddles on the back to locate the pigs! More information will be coming soon!
