Young Americans Board Members support our mission to develop the financial literacy of young people through real-life experiences and hands-on programs purposefully designed to enable them to prosper in our free enterprise system. This month, we’d like to introduce you to Shawn Cole, Executive Vice President at Bank of the West and Young Americans Bank Board Member.
At Bank of the West, Shawn has served as Division Executive Vice President for the Rocky Mountain Division of Bank of the West since January 2018. In his role, Shawn is responsible for leading retail banking sales and operations for 120 branches in four states, which encompasses Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Shawn served as Senior Vice President, Regional Manager, for the Metro Denver Region from June 2017 to January 2018.
Immediately prior to joining Bank of the West, Shawn was Executive Vice President and Director of Community Banking for Vectra Bank’s (Zions Bancorporation) Colorado market leading Retail and Business Banking, as well as the Mortgage Banking Division. He has been involved in the banking and financial services industry since 1993.
In addition to his role at Young Americans Bank, Shawn also serves on the Board of Directors at Colorado Bankers Association and is a coach for the Arapahoe Youth Football League and Lacrosse.
Young Americans Center for Financial Education is grateful for Shawn’s support both personally and professionally. Bank of the West funds Send-a-School scholarships for Young AmeriTowne and International Towne, and Shawn and his wife, Lisa have personally supported the Spotlight on YouthBiz Stars gala for the last five years. Thank you Shawn for your commitment and leadership!
Hi, my name is Billy E. Hale and I am president of Landmark Tabernacle, Inc. I would like to have an appointment with Shawn Cole at his earliest convenience. We have done a good bit of banking with BOTW and I am a part of the Wealth Management operations personally. My concern is that we applied for a PPP loan in March, 2020 and was notified that we were accepted and later we were asked, at a later date in April, what fund did we want the proceeds to be placed in. We have responded many times, left messages, etc. and no one will call us back or try to let us know what is happening. Is there a way we can hear from BOTW at all? Your consideration and help is much appreciated.
Billy E. Hale
