Wrapping things up

Another successful partnership between Young Americans and the gSchool has wrapped up.  The teams (young entrepreneurs and gSchool students) met up three times before the demo day to brainstorm, build, and refine the functions of their unique websites.  Each website ended up as distinctive as the business and business owners.  At Young Americans, we are big believers in hands on learning and this experience taught our young entrepreneurs how to work with an industry expert, communicate their ideas and vision, and then end with a website they could maintain and update themselves.

Special thanks to Jeff Casimir and the students at gSchool for helping these young entrepreneurs get online!

The new sites

Here is a look into what these outstanding kids businesses created:

Aahhh 2 J’s Lemonade – Sisters Nyla and Eryka have been working hard for years on their refreshing lemonade business, and cannot wait to see what online exposure will bring them. Be sure to visit them on Lemonade Day June 7th, 2014.

Borg Bros Boards - new website!

Flair Body Care – (Claire + Finn = Flair) are great friends with a love for great body care products. The girls started mixing different lotions into “lotion potion” in their bathroom and now have a booming beauty care business with a website.

Forever Essence – Soy based candles straight to you via this team supported by Youth Biz. Eric, Taylor, and Deja have been selling their candles for a few years, and have been adding more scents for special occasions.

Stickman LAX – Owen and his lacrosse clothing company has really been gaining momentum. He participated in the December Young Entrepreneurs Marketplace and is now online promoting his great t-shirts. His love of the game inspired him to set some of his profits aside to help send other kids to lacrosse camp.

Tie Dye Jack – Although Jack has been running his business for many years – and has even won our annual youth business competition – he has yet to take his business online. However, with the gSchool partnership, Jack can now showcase the wide variety of his products online…like his best- selling tie dye toilet paper.
