Tinkering away!

We partnered up with Mindspark again! This time we added circuits and led lights to plush robots to light up their hearts just in time for Valentine’s Day. Executive Director Maia Stone, and instructor Ally Seely came and spent their Saturday at Young Americans teaching this group of bright and curious minds. We not only used conductive paint but also experimented with conductive thread.

Circuit– A closed usually circular line that goes around an object or area. Or circuit theory, the theory of accomplishing work by routing electrons, gas, fluids, or other matter through loops.

Electricity– The set of physical phenomena associated with the presence and flow of electric charge.

LED– Light-emitting diode.

The class was filled with boys and girls of different ages and skill levels and everyone left with a successful project!
