Girl Scout Badge Class: Juniors Savvy Shopper Badge

Girl Scouts attend a class at Young Americans

Participants who attend this class will be guided through the steps necessary to earn their Savvy Shopper badge.  Girls will identify the difference between “needs” and “wants,” and will discuss advertising techniques and how ads affect consumer decisions. Participants will also make a time capsule about what they think they will purchase as adults, which they can open in 10 years.

Money Matters Class: Sarah’s Budget

The ability to sew creates all kinds of business opportunities for young entrepreneurs, and we know many who just need to learn the basics.  Come to this workshop to learn entry level machine sewing, basic skills that can yield dozens of different fabric-based products!  All participants will leave with their very own, self-made scrunchie, supply organizer, or a variety of other options using simple stitching techniques.  Ages 8-14.  There is a $10 fee for materials.
