How do I become a member of the youth advisory board?
  • First, you need to apply! The application for the 2026-2027 Youth Board will be available next year, 2026. Thank you!
What is the youth advisory board co-chair & why should I apply?
  • Past Youth Advisory Board Members are encouraged to apply to be a Youth Advisory Board Co-Chair. Co-Chairs embodies the essence of Young Americans through:
  • Leading a diverse cohort of young individuals.
  • Coordinating and Facilitating monthly Board Meetings.
  • Gaining knowledge about Young Americans Bank and the nonprofit programs of Young Americans Center.
  • Acquiring fundamental understanding in banking, business, philanthropy, and public relations.
  • Offering insights and suggestions on banking products, services, and programs.
  • Contributing their time as volunteers to support Young Americans programs.
  • Cultivating essential skills in presentation, networking, communication, leadership, and business.
  • Serving as ambassadors for the organization at special events and functions.
  • Forming connections and building friendships with students from various schools across Colorado.
What do we look for in a youth advisory board co-chair?
  • The Co-Chairs of the Youth Advisory Board are keen to share their ideas and fully devoted to leadership roles within the Board.
What is the youth advisory board & why should I apply?
  • This inspiring group of incoming 8th-12th graders embodies the essence of Young Americans through:
  • Gaining knowledge about Young Americans Bank and the nonprofit programs of Young Americans Center.
  • Acquiring fundamental understanding in banking, business, philanthropy, and public relations.
  • Offering insights and suggestions on banking products, services, and programs.
  • Contributing their time as volunteers to support Young Americans programs.
  • Cultivating essential skills in presentation, networking, communication, leadership, and business.
  • Serving as ambassadors for the organization at special events and functions.

What do we look for in a youth advisory board member?
  • Youth Advisory Board members are enthusiastic about sharing their ideas and are committed to serving on the Board. No experience is necessary!
When are the required board meetings & events?
  • Monthly Meetings: One Saturday of each month, August 2026 – May 2027, 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
  • Welcome Reception: TBD, 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM (for Board members and their families)
  • Spotlight on YouthBiz Stars: TBD, 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

The Youth Advisory Board meets once a month to advise and oversee Young Americans Bank and the nonprofit programs of Young Americans Center for Financial Education. Members cannot miss more than three meetings or two meetings in a row throughout the year.
