Teacher Orientation Information for 2026-2027 School Year

Teacher orientations are offered during the months of August through March to provide critical information about the mechanics of the Young AmeriTowne program and the classroom materials.

It is highly encouraged for all teachers to review new Young AmeriTowne materials and attend an orientation.  It is especially important this year to attend an orientation as there have been changes to curriculum for the upcoming school year.

Teachers should schedule a Young AmeriTowne Teacher Orientation at least two months prior to attending Young AmeriTowne.  Teacher Orientations are included with the cost of program registration.

Teacher Orientations – New Teachers

Teachers new to the Young AmeriTowne program are required to attend a Teacher Orientation. These two-hour sessions provide critical information about the mechanics of the Young AmeriTowne program and classroom materials. Reserve your spot at least two weeks prior to the Orientation date.

  • The two-hour orientation is provided for all teachers even those that have previously taught the Young AmeriTowne curriculum. If you are a new teacher and unable to attend an orientation please reach out to the appropriate director below:
    • For Young AmeriTowne Headquarters YAT 17 contact Serena Whitaker, Young AmeriTowne Director, at swhitaker@yacenter.org or (303) 320-3247.
    • For Young AmeriTowne at Belmar contact Mary Tallerday-Smith, Belmar Director, at Mtallerdaysmith@yacenter.org or (303) 320-3259.
    • For YAT 10 contact Olivia Larry, YAT 10 Director, at olarry@yacenter.org or (303) 320-3208.
  • For your convenience, Teacher Orientations have been scheduled on weekdays and Saturdays. All Saturday orientations will be held remotely, live via Teams. A Teams link will be sent out 3 day prior to each session. Bring your whole team and use the day as a planning session!
  • All in-person sessions are conducted at Young Americans Center for Financial Education, 3550 East First Avenue, Denver, CO. Young Americans is located on the southwest corner of First Avenue and Monroe, four blocks west of Colorado Boulevard. Please park in the parking garage attached to the building (entrance on Monroe).
  • Beverages and snacks will be available during in-person Teacher Orientation sessions.
  • Plan to attend an orientation at least two months prior to your Towne date. Advance reservations are required.
  • Please register for an orientation that matches your scheduled program enrollment. Refer back to your contract if you are unsure of what program you are enrolled in.

To reserve your spot, contact Jeremy Ollie, registration@yacenter.org
