Summer Camp Descriptions

Summer camps are a great way for young people to experience FUNancial education through our award-winning programs. Read Summer Camp descriptions below to decide which camp is perfect for your young learner.  A rising 4th grader is a student who will enter 4th grade in the 2020-2021 school year.

Governor Polis has approved in-person summer camps to operate starting June 1st as long as they comply with restrictions and strong precautionary measures. We will follow all guidelines as directed by the state.

Families can cancel up to two weeks before the start of an in-person camp to receive a full refund.

The Center has announced exciting Virtual Programs for those wanting at-home options.

Girls Can

Rising 6th or 7th Graders

Students entering 6th or 7th grade for the 2020-2021 school year

Campers learn about women leaders around the world, connect with local businesswomen, and participate in activities to help discover how to be financially fit. The week wraps up with campers testing their skills by running Young AmeriTowne!

Junior Money Matters

Rising 3rd and 4th Graders

Students entering 3rd or 4th grade for the 2020-2021 school year

Explore fun things about money, banking and the world of work, while learning important basic financial skills. On the last day, you get to work in a business and run your very own life-like town.

Just Start It

Rising 6th – 7th Graders

Students entering 6th or 7th grade for the 2020-2021 school year

Have you ever thought about making some extra money, but you’re not sure how or where to begin?  This camp gives you tools and tricks you need to make a business happen now!  Campers develop real businesses and real products that they’ll present on Friday for a chance to win awesome prizes.  Plus, you’ll be on your way to earning real profits!

Rising 6th – 8th Graders

Students entering 6th – 8th grade for the 2020-2021 school year

Do you love technology and gaming apps?  This camp will teaches how to create, market, and sell your very own mobile application as a business venture. Campers will present and demo their apps on Friday for the chance to win cash prizes!

Running Your Own Biz

Rising 4th and 5th Graders

Students entering 4th or 5th grade for the 2020-2021 school year

Curious about starting your own business? This program explores the basics of what it takes to get started, allows you to experiment with ideas, and helps you decide what business you might want to start.  At the Friday Marketplace, sell the products you made throughout the week!

Young AmeriTowne

Rising 5th and 6th Graders

Students entering 5th or 6th grade for the 2020-2021 school year

Here is your chance to learn about government, banking, economics, supply and demand, advertising and much more. Then put your knowledge to work by running your own life-like town on the last day.

Young AmeriTowne 2

Rising 6th – 7th Graders who have completed Young AmeriTowne

Students entering 6th or 7th grade for the 2020-2021 school year

Been through Young AmeriTowne and want to go again with more challenges? Young AmeriTowne2 is for you! Expand your knowledge about investing, budgeting, credit and debit cards and experience Young AmeriTowne like never before. **Students must have completed Young AmeriTowne before, either as a summer camp or with their school.**

Refund/Cancellation Policy

Families may cancel with a full refund up to two weeks prior to the start of a Summer Camp.  Any cancellations made within two weeks prior to the start of a Summer Camp are not refundable and no refund will be issued.  However, a certificate valid for 50% off of the cost of a future enrollment for one individual will be issued.  To make any changes or to cancel registration, written notice is required and should be provided to Jeremy Ollie, jollie@yacenter.org.  If Young Americans cancels a program due to insufficient enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
