Research shows that a large percentage of people of all ages, incomes, and education lack the basic financial knowledge and skills to ensure long-term stability for themselves and their families. This is why Young Americans believes it is never too early to teach children about money. Our hands-on programs and real-life experiences build life skills, work skills and financial self-sufficiency in more than 64,000 youth every year.
Only at Young Americans can…
- 7 year-olds start their own business
- 10 year-olds become mayor
- 13 year-olds rule the world
- 16 year-olds take out a business loan
Young Americans Center for Financial Education is home to Young Americans Bank and an incredible array of award-winning nonprofit programs, all designed to teach young people 21 and under about finances, economics and business. Since opening our doors in 1987, we’ve served more than 675,000 youth throughout Colorado and in other states, and been honored with numerous awards for our efforts and achievements.
Young Americans Bank, the world’s only FDIC-insured bank designed specifically for young people, operates alongside Young Americans Center’s nonprofit programs. Young Americans Bank offers products like savings and checking accounts just like other banks do. However the bank’s uniqueness is in its focus specifically on young people and helping them develop smart money management habits at an early age.
Young Americans nonprofit programs depend on thousands of volunteers as well as financial and educational support from the community. That support enables us to impact thousands of kids, teens and young adults each year through engaging, hands-on programs like Young AmeriTowne, International Towne, YouthBiz, Summer Camps, Money Matters Classes, Spotlight on YouthBiz Stars, and YouthBiz Marketplace.
Become a supporter. Our supporters range from large, multi-year corporate partners to smaller entrepreneurial business owners; from passionate individual givers to dedicated local foundations. We are committed to creating long-term relationships with every one of them.
