The second of our three distinguished mentors hosting a youth entrepreneur in the Spotlight on YouthBiz Stars business competition is Mark Cordova, President of Centennial Bolt, Inc.
In 1979, after graduating from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Administration, Mark moved to Denver and founded Centennial Bolt, Inc. – a fastener distribution business which grew to become one of the Rocky Mountain Region’s largest fastener suppliers.
Mark also became active in the ownership and management of Cordova Bolt, a family-owned business, after his father fell ill in 2008. Founded in 1975, Cordova Bolt has consistently been recognized as one of the top 500 Hispanic businesses in the United States for over 35 years.
In 2013, Mark formed a subsidiary of Cordova Bolt to service the needs of Southern California Edison to consolidate the procurement, receiving, warehousing, packaging, delivery and billing from multiple vendors to a single source. Both companies supply fasteners and related hardware to the manufacturing, construction and utility industries throughout the United States.
Mark has been involved with Young Americans Center for Financial Education and Young Americans Bank for many years and previously served on the Board of Directors of Young Americans Bank. He also worked on the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative along with Young Americans CEO, Rich Martinez.
Mark is on the executive committee of the National Association of Manufacturers and is a member of Southern California Minority Supplier Development Council. He is also on the executive committee of the board of Volunteers of America, Colorado Branch and on the executive board of the Denver Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Cordova is honored to be a Presenting Mentor for one of this year’s Spotlight on YouthBiz Stars winners. He looks forward to working with a young entrepreneur and tapping into his personal network and resources to help them meet their business goals.
