To start April, YouthBiz hosted the annual Colorado Uplift Competition here at Young Americans Center for Financial Education. We are excited to continue our six-year partnership with the fantastic people at Colorado Uplift. This organization works to inspire the youth in our community to become the leaders of tomorrow! This event had students from four of Denver’s high schools pitching their very own business concepts. This competition was a finale where individual school winners competed to be the overall winner.

Winning team presentsThe four groups came from Denver North High School, George Washington High School, Gateway High School, and Hinkley School.  The students of Denver North went first with their business, Clear View. This was a company that makes tinted windows for cars. Inspired by eyeglasses, their tinted windows will change depending on if it is day or night, giving you privacy and safety when driving. George Washington went next with Wonder Lure. This business offered bait for the person who isn’t the best at fishing. The lure looks like a small fish that uses GPS to make catching fish easier. Third to present was Double Lock from Hinkley. Tackling the problem of car thefts, Double Lock pitched a security system that is easy to use and can shut down your car if a potential theft happens.  The last group was from Gateway High School, and they introduced their business, Milaisha. This business is a bag that helps students organize their belongings and save space.  Team from Gateway presents
