Young Americans Center for Financial Education has announced the names of the 14 teens from throughout the metro area who will serve on its Youth Advisory Board for the 2015-2016 school year.
What is the Youth Advisory Board? According to President and CEO Rich Martinez, “Young Americans has enjoyed the youth perspective provided by our teen board since we were founded.” The teens weigh in on strategies and marketing for the Center’s Young Americans Bank and other popular financial educational programs. The teens, ranging from 8th grade to high school seniors have the opportunity to learn “hands-on” about banking, business and the role of nonprofits in a community. They will receive training and experience in how to serve on a board, media relations and philanthropy. One of the highlights of their board service is choosing the real charities for the Donation Station at the Young AmeriTowne program.
Selected through a competitive application and interview process, the 2015/2016 Youth Advisory Board members are:

- Natalie Allon, 12th Grade, George Washington High School

- Andrew Hageman, 9th Grade, George Washington High School
- Colette Martinez, 11th Grade, Grandview High School
- Susie McInerney, 12th Grade, Mullen High School
- Kayla Ro, 9th Grade, East High School
