Stylin’ lemonade stand!
Young entrepreneurs are popping up everywhere! We hosted nearly a dozen business owners at Young Americans on Saturday, May 18 for the Lemonade Day Denver Best Tasting Contest.
Sweet and sour
Every year, thousands of young people set up their card tables and pour lemonade for thirsty customers across Denver. This year, Lemonade Day Denver takes place on Sunday, June 9. To kick off this yearly event, however, the best of the best showed off their skills during a heated — er “chilled” — competition.
ZARL Inc sold a cup for $10 — that includes the lemonade AND a rocket launcher!
Entrepreneurs competed in two categories: Healthiest Lemonade and Best Tasting Lemonade. Celebrity judges from around Denver sampled and smacked their lips at each booth. Two of the Youth Advisory Board members were lucky enough to participate as judges. Here are the results:
Winners of the Healthiest Lemonade Recipe: Nicole Taylor and Adam Thiret
Best Tasting 3rd Place: Sara and Lucy Francone
Best Tasting 2nd Place: Fresh Start Kids
Best Tasting 1st Place: Nicole Taylor & Adam Thiret
Lemonhead made an appearance at the Best Tasting Contest.
The winners walked away with a $500 scholarship and a fun package of small prizes.
