Did you know that Young Americans has a location in Wray, Colorado, near the Kansas/Nebraska border? Rural Young Americans offers Rural Young AmeriTowne and some fabulous entrepreneurial programs.
Initiative, imagination and inspiration describe the 13 budding young business owners who sold handmade, homegrown products at the second annual Rural Young Americans Marketplace. The participating entrepreneurs hailed from seven rural communities throughout northeastern Colorado, bringing a unique shopping experience for all ages.
The Marketplace was the culmination of a year of learning about developing a business, generating business ideas, and becoming “owners” of business products. The Marketplace buzzed with busy shoppers enjoying a variety of shopping opportunities as products ranged from colorful duct tape wallets to handcrafted jewelry, cake pops , beautiful framed photographs, and more. Taste buds were tempted with home baked goodies, chicken soup, jerky, and a variety of flavored caramel popcorn; all created and sold by young business owners ages 6 to 19. A total of 370 products were sold from 10 booths with sales totaling over $1,866.
