Hundreds of students gain a hands-on lesson in financial education at Young Americans Center for Financial Education every year. With its headquarters in Cherry Creek, we shine a spotlight on long-time supporter Cherry Creek Shopping Center which has made this learning possible for the last decade.
Students, teachers, and parents appreciate the value of the educational programs at Young Americans Center. Students from Goddard Middle School, a Littleton Public School, visited International Towne during the 2018-19 school year where they gained a hands-on lesson in global economics. Teacher Mr. Lobb has brought students for the last three years because the program, “provides a real-world simulation in profit and teamwork.” He added that parents ask about it every year at back-to-school night, and that his students love it.
Across the building in Young AmeriTowne, fourth graders from Cherry Creek School District’s Aspen Crossing gained a hands-on lesson in free enterprise. Parent volunteer Angie was thrilled how the program sparked conversations about money at home. “We’ve talked about debit cards and how to write a check,” she said, pointing out her son Payton who was Manager of the Containers Shop that day.
Since 2009, Cherry Creek Shopping Center has provided free parking for school buses while students participate in Towne programs, usually a four-hour session. Thank you to Cherry Creek Shopping Center for its commitment to educate Colorado’s young people!
