Every year the Young American’s Center for Financial Literacy holds a statewide business competition for youth ages 6 to 21 who own and operate their own business. This competition is separated into 3 age categories and based on a variety of aspects of the youth’s business.
On Thursday, November 9, 2023, Jefferson County Public School District had a board meeting, during which Marisa Beck was recognized for her amazing accomplishment of winning the 6-11 age category! Marisa’s company, Funny Balloons, LLC is a service-based business that can be hired for birthday parties and other events to make balloon creations as well as paint Henna tattoos.
Congratulations to Marisa! She is a great representation of the YouthBiz young entrepreneurs around the state!
