The applications for the Youth Advisory Board piled in last week, as the deadline to apply was June 29. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be conducting interviews with the candidates to select the best board members to take Young Americans through 2014.

But who will lead this group?

It’s my privilege to introduce the two new Co-Chairs of the 2013-2014 Youth Advisory Board.  Please meet Amina Khribeche and Conor McNamara!

Amina Khribeche is going to be a 12th grader at Denver Center for International Studies.  She’s been a lifetime account holder at Young Americans Bank and was a member of the 2008-2009 Youth Advisory Board.  Amina is an entrepreneur who sells Moroccan pottery and jewelry that she makes.  She is also the president of the Environmental Club at her school, and volunteers in a variety of community service projects in addition to swimming on her school’s swim team.  Meet Amina below in the video she made during her Co-Chair interview.

Conor is heading into his senior year at Regis Jesuit High School.  He was a member of the 2011-2012 Youth Advisory Board, and also helped out significantly with the 25th birthday in 2012.  At Regis he is a member of the Mock Trial Club, holds a place on the honor roll, and plays for the JV tennis team.  Additionally, Conor participated in the Chinese Summer Bridge Program, where participants travel around China to study the language and culture.  Meet Conor in this video he made below during his Co-Chair interview.

As with the board member applicants, it was a difficult decision to decide among the wonderful and highly qualified candidates for Co-Chair.  However, I’m thrilled with these two leaders and am looking forward to a wonderful year with them!

Send Amina and Conor your congratulations by leaving a comment below.
