Understanding how to budget is vital in order to be financially fit. Here at Young Americans Center, we believe that it is never too early to start teaching young people about the basics of budgeting.
Although kids are not physically attending our classes right now, we have been diligently working to create fun and educational Virtual Programs available for students to participate in on their own time and at their own pace.
While the topic and age group varies from class to class, core budgeting concepts are woven throughout each class, allowing students to build on their knowledge with each class that they participate in. From budgeting basics, such as income and expenses, to developing a personal and business budget, students come away with knowledge that will help them now and in the future.
Activities such as creating a “Pizza Budget”, “Budgeting For a Household of 4” and creating “Spend, Save, and Share Jars”, help illustrate budgeting concepts in fun and unique ways!
As we continue to develop new virtual classes, we are excited to begin partnering with organizations outside of Colorado, in order to ensure that all students have access to YACFE programming, no matter what state they live in. We look forward to continuing to provide more resources to our current community as well as new communities.
