There’s a brand-new space for makers at Cherry Creek Shopping Center, and Young Americans Center for Financial Education is thrilled to be a part of it!  The District Shops showcase artwork, products, and services from local artisans and small business owners.

Within this unique space, you’ll also find products from four YouthBiz entrepreneurs.  Brenden Coney, age 17, started Elevations Creations when he was 13.  The business specializes in custom wood crafts and gifts including cutting boards, bread knives, wine racks, and home décor.  Sweet Bee Sisters, owned by Lily (17), Chloe (16), and Sophie (13) Warren, sells eight flavors of all-natural lip balm and other products made by the sisters own beehives.  Isabelle May, age 13, sells hand-made wine charms in her business Charming Wine Charms. 12-year-old Lael Larson designs and creates custom wooden jewelry through her business, Maple & Oak.

Cherry Creek Shopping Center has been a long-time supporter of Young Americans Center by providing space for school groups to park their buses while students attend Young AmeriTowne or International Towne.  As discussions about The District Shops began, creating a place for youth business owners to sell their products was a natural fit.  “Finding customers is one of the biggest challenges youth business owners face,” notes Maite Wantwadi, YouthBiz Coordinator.  “Having a dedicated space for YouthBiz at The District Shops is a huge asset for these entrepreneurs, and it helps them gain real experience in marketing, packaging, and retail.”

Young Americans Center for Financial Education is grateful for the continued support of our neighbor, Cherry Creek Shopping Center, which makes hands-on, real-life learning possible.
