What is the stock market?

The stock market is place – usually virtual these days – where people can buy and sell shares in a variety of companies for loss or gain.  There are two different key stock markets you may hear about a lot in the United States.  Read about the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ here.

While learning about the stock market, it’s important to understand some of the lingo.  The terms “bear” and “bull” mean two very different and important things when referring to the stock market.  Find out the different here.
