National Entrepreneurship week this year takes place from Saturday, February 16thto Saturday, February 23rd. As a way to celebrate entrepreneurship and our youth entrepreneurs, we have put them up to a couple of tasks each day on our Facebook and Twitter pages along with some entrepreneurial tips. Wednesday’s task was for our youth entrepreneurs to send us their business profile to be posted on a blog and we received one from Josephine “Joey” Stockton, owner of Nerdy Crochet, LLC. This business will impress you!
Joey is the 15 years-old owner of Nerdy Crochet, LLC. She has always loved crafting and making things with her hands from a very young age. So in 2014, when she was 10 years old, Joey learned how to crochet. Over the next five years, she practiced and continued to expand her knowledge, and she determined what she really liked to create. Her skills grew far beyond traditional blankets, hats, and scarves–Joey creates 3-D crochet dolls and stuffed toys. As a girl interested in STEM, Joey’s favorite products are both cute and nerdy–like a crochet test tube set! You can get Joey’s wonderfully-crocheted items at the District Shop located on 2500 E 1st Ave #A100, Denver, CO 80206.
