Peakview Elementary School’s Spark Change student leaders gathered Monday afternoon in Centennial to present their completed service project to an organization they cared for deeply, There With Care. With locations in Denver, Boulder and Redwood City, California, There with Care aids families and children who are facing a critical illness by providing services and support. The student leaders chose to give to this nonprofit because “helping those in need is a very important thing in life.” This organization has also made an impact in the life of a Peakview student’s family.
Over the last few weeks, the Spark Change student leaders have been taking time out of their day to put together and donate 15 no-sew blankets, 75 movie snack bags, 45 super hero capes, 20 diaries, and 200 decorated paper bags! They couldn’t have completed all of this if it weren’t for the help of their student council, parents, a couple ladies who hosted a book fair, and their coach. The representatives from There With Care were so pleased to see everything that was being donated, and they were filled with even more joy when they were presented a check that would help buy groceries for 14 families!
These Spark Change student leaders are truly making an impact on their community. Won’t you join in and spark a change in YOUR community?
