Educating youth about the free enterprise system, where the market determines prices, products, and services, is where Young Americans Center and the Adolph Coors Foundation are joining forces!

Partners of Young Americans since 2008, the Coors Foundation believes in fostering an environment where entrepreneurial spirits flourish, helping Coloradans reach their full potential. The Foundation places a high priority on programs that help youth to prosper and encourage economic opportunities. Their vision includes a nation where all Americans are educated, particularly in the wisdom of the free market system.

Young Americans Center engages school-age youth in experiential learning to build financial, workplace and business skills for a self-sufficient life. Students conducting business on Success Street in Young AmeriTowne Our goal is that every Colorado student, regardless of background, knows how to earn, make and manage his or her money wisely. We do this through award-winning hands-on, real-life programs: Young AmeriTowne – financial literacy, workforce readiness and free enterprise for 5th graders; International Towne – global economics for middle school students; and YouthBiz – entrepreneurship education focused on at-risk students.

The Coors Foundation is a true supporter of the community around them, both in Colorado and nationally, donating close to $8 million to 139 organizations in 2021.

Carrie Tynan, CEO of the Coors Foundation, is carrying out the intent of Bill and Joe Coors when they first started the Foundation in 1975. “I do take on that role very seriously,” said Tynan. “It’s not that they gave us such a clear directive. We have a vision for America versus a mission statement or donor intent statement. But they gave us the guidelines of the ideas that they like, the things that they believe in, the values that they believe in.”

We think that Bill and Joe would certainly agree with the work that Young Americans Center is doing to teach Colorado youth about supply and demand, banking, business principles, entrepreneurship and philanthropy!

Thank you to the Coors Foundation for supporting us to deliver financial education to students throughout the state.
