Young AmeriTowne and International Towne help prepare young people for the real world. And thanks to the IMA Foundation, students from all different backgrounds can gain this hands-on experience in financial education.
Proud partner IMA supports the Send-a-School initiative of Young Americans Center for Financial Education which provides scholarships to Young AmeriTowne and International Towne. This education is particularly important for low-income youth because research demonstrates that financial literacy “reduces the likelihood of being financially fragile by more than 6 percentage points…above and beyond the effects of educational achievement,” NEFE July 2018.

For the 8,271 students who received a scholarship in 2018, IMA’s commitment is essential. For example, take Kemp Elementary, an Adams County 14 school where 86 percent of students receive free or reduced lunch, which attended Young AmeriTowne on scholarship last fall. “Now I will be able to balance my money, use it responsibly, and be able to understand responsibility in work,” writes Hailey, a student participant who is only 10 years old.
In addition, IMA contributes to the Spotlight on YouthBiz Stars gala and business awards ceremony benefiting Young Americans Center as a whole. Last year’s event raised $248,000 that drives continued expansion and development of programs to reach even more youth.
According to its website, IMA strives to protect assets and make a difference, not only for clients, but also within the communities in which it operates. By helping today’s young people learn how to earn, make and manage their money at a young age, IMA Foundation is certainly making an impact.
