MarkWest Energy Partners is a relatively new supporter of Young Americans Center, but their last three years of partnership has helped create an inviting and exciting Towne environment for students, parents, and teachers.
MarkWest sponsors the Volunteer Station at Young AmeriTowne Denver and Belmar, which is designed to be a comfortable place for volunteers and teachers throughout the day. Young Americans Center relies on parent volunteers to help out in each shop or country as business consultants. They are there to help answer students’ questions and to ask their own questions, encouraging the student workers to think critically about the decisions they make. For example, if employees at the Snack Shop decide to lower the price on their chocolate chip cookies, a volunteer might ask them how this action might affect their ability to pay back their bank loan at the end of the day.
Volunteers also get a few perks in return for donating their time! Thanks to the support of MarkWest and 
other sponsors, each volunteer receives a coupon good for a drink, a snack and a newspaper in Towne. Adult visitors get to choose popcorn or chocolate chip cookies and a soda or lemonade to enjoy. Plus, they receive a complimentary copy of the newspaper, published by the Newspaper shop.
At Young Americans Center, we provide every volunteer with a meaningful experience and a comfortable space to store their personal items and to pause for a free cup of coffee. MarkWest helps to make this possible—thank you!
