Young Americans Center for Financial Education invites Coloradans to support hands-on financial education programs for youth by donating on Colorado Gives Day, December 8, 2020. This type of education is needed now more than ever!
We believe that providing youth with hands-on programs and real-life skills, together with career development opportunities will lead to:
- financially-independent individuals;
- financially-independent families;
- economic development;
- and strong communities.
With no state mandate for a financial literacy course, programs like Young AmeriTowne, International Towne and YouthBiz, are often the only financial education a youth receives. During the 2019/2020 school year, funds helped 31,537 Colorado students receive this life-changing education.
Community First Foundation and FirstBank present Colorado Gives Day, an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy through online giving. The event is powered by ColoradoGives.org, a year-round, online giving platform. Donors can easily search for our profile on the site and make safe and secure donations.
“Colorado Gives Day is one of our most important fundraisers of the year. Donations help us ensure that every child, regardless of background, grows up knowing how to earn, make and manage money wisely,” says Rich Martinez, President and CEO of Young Americans Center. “Our goal is to raise $20,000 this year, which would provide ‘money smarts’ for more than 1,300 students and would help us earn a share of the $1 Million Incentive Fund.”
