This month our Sponsor Spotlight Blog highlights our partnership with the University of Denver, sponsor of the College at our Young AmeriTowne Denver location.
When student citizens visit the College, they are struck by the dynamic and exciting environment created by DU! Bright wall graphics put 5th graders right on campus – a perfect place for career education exploration! Citizens visiting the College take a free “course,” a three-minute, interactive preview of the different jobs available for different interests: art, math, and construction, just to name a few. Then College Career Counselors issue lifelike University of Denver ID cards, and upsell customers on laminating the IDs for a small fee. Meanwhile, the College Yearbook Photographer documents the day in Towne and sells souvenir photos to fellow citizens.
Thanks to the University of Denver, the College in Young AmeriTowne captures the feel of a real campus and the prestige of a college ID for students who might just be inspired to go on to become the first in their family to go to college!
The University of Denver is a long-time partner of Young Americans Center. Established in 1864, just a few years after the city of Denver was founded, DU became one of the first universities in the nation to add an ethics curriculum to its College of Business. In 1994 the business school was named the Daniels College of Business honoring cable pioneer Bill Daniels, who also founded Young Americans. With its emphasis on ethics, experiential education and social responsibility for over 150 years, DU’s partnership with Young Americans Center fits right along this mission!
