It’s been a great three months of hard work, problem solving, business creation, team selection, public speaking and critical thinking at YouthBiz! On Wednesday, December 14th YouthBiz graduated its fall cohort of young entrepreneurs from the Aspiring Entrepreneur (AE) an entry-level class that teaches participants how to think, learn, speak, and act like entrepreneurs and Emerging Entrepreneur (EE) programs. Participants pitched their businesses to a panel of judges compromised of family, friends and community business leaders including representatives from Vantiv, State Farm, and Amica. Young Entrepreneurs were evaluated on three categories including Best Pitch, Best Visual Display and Best Overall Business Idea. Businesses ideas ranged from candles, safes, and scrapbooks to charms, Chinese art magnets and more!
The winners were:
Best Visual Display: Ruomu Zhang
Best Pitch: Picture Safe- Maci Cohen and Sadie Bercovitz
Best Overall Business Idea: Magna-Desk Inc. – Jonah Watts, Tommy Alpert, and Uriel Vazquez
Top EE Business: Joyful Bubbles- Miriam Rojo
Top EE: Lili Hurd
The participants did a remarkable job and achieved a great deal during the three week program. Thank you to all the participants for making this session a success and to all parents, staff, community leaders and volunteers from Amica, State Farm, and Vantiv for helping make this event a success!
