Learning new things in Far Northeast Denver

What do you get when you gather a group of 7 teenagers, lots of questions about money, a brand new Young Americans Bank branch, and plenty of snacks? A great brainstorming group!

Meet the members of the Youth Advisory Council. This select group of students from schools in Far Northeast Denver meets monthly to provide feedback, ideas and support to Young Americans’ new location. Because these students go to school right near the branch – either on campus or just a few miles away – they are experts at knowing how to help us spread the word.

Since November, the teens have helped out in a variety of ways:

  • They spent many hours each hosting a table at various locations so the local community could learn about us.
  • They helped to host the successful Grand Opening of our Branch by being a welcoming presence, assisting with announcements, and networking with guests.
  • Each has had many friends take a survey on the best hours for the Branch to be open, which helps us determine our staffing needs.
  • The group continues to brainstorm new ideas about classes, activities, giveaways and much more.
